Harry Belafonte Was Correct
Calypso singer, actor, and civil rights activist Harry Belafonte (March 1, 1927–April 25, 2023) died one year ago this week. He was 96.
I retrieved videos from The Jimmy Dore Show which includes a memorable moment by Belafonte.
The first video was published to YouTube on November 17, 2016. That was nine days following the first-term election win for Donald Trump.
The second video, with guest host Aaron Maté and Jimmy Dore (to the side), was published to YouTube on April 27, 2023.
In the videos, Belafonte said what he thinks of the Democratic Party in the presence of both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.
This is relevant not only then and now…but for quite some time.

‘Damon Imani VS Mainstream Media…’
Now added to [Recommended] Videos is Damon Imani.
Jimmy Dore (who is off this and next week and will be subbed by Due Dissidence’s Russell Dobular) recently included a video of Imani’s. In it, the comedian has him [in an edited appearance] confronting the hypocrisy and shallowness of the regulars on ABC’s The View.
According to his YouTube channel, Damon Imani Reposts, “all videos can be found on Rumble.”
I will have the Rumble link provided. In fact, the Videos which have a link to Rumble will have an [*] asterisk to the left of that recommended source.
In the meantime, given the date of this week’s blog topic, I am including an embedded video from his YouTube channel because I know humor is appreciated. (It is needed.)

Busy…Frustrated
I have no specific blog topic this week with regard for politics.
I am busy, due to some personal reasons, and then I get to have something else hit me.
Last week’s blog topic, “‘Uncommitted’ to Biden,” did not include any pictures—which I had intended—because, somehow, I could not get any into the draft of the blog [entry, prior to scheduled publishing date].
I attempted to do so again, after the blog became published—say, last Tuesday [March 12, 2024]—via an edit. (Following an edit, I can update a given blog topic which already published.)
No luck.
Every once in a while, I turn around and—lo and behold!—Google does something with Blogger—which is the platform used for Progressives Chat—which creates a problem for me. I then hope it is temporary. (Google did this over a year ago with embedding a video into the drafts for blog topics.)
I will be frank: I am very annoyed. And frustrated. I am not impressed with whatever changes, from time to time, a platform makes with some apparent assumption that it will definitely improve usage. This gets me to wonder if I should consider a different platform, such as WordPress, and move on.
I will try again. (If not this week then by the end of March.)
I am open for suggestions and advice.
