Mainstream news broadcasters in this current period remind me of one fictionalized from a past generation: Ted Baxter, from the fictional WJM in Minneapolis, Minnesota, played by Ted Knight (1923–1986), from The Mary Tyler Moore Show. Watch this video and, perhaps, you may understand what I mean. It was 41 years ago on this date that marked the final episode of The Mary Tyler Moore Show, on CBS, on March 19, 1977.
